Release 0.1.0-alpha.9
A gathered release. XGS: Overview gains an Appliance health card and rows - on XGS 3300 its board's temperatures, both fans, both power supplies, reset button and CPLD; on XGS 126 and 136 its coprocessor, fan and reset flag - and the appliance's serial number; its Coprocessor tab gains U-Boot's and the boot image's build dates. On XGS 3300 the switch, the SFP+ cages' PHY and an expansion module's PHY are read on the coprocessor every four minutes, beside its memory module where that has a sensor, and reach OPNsense's temperature widget. XGS 126 and 136 load superio(4) at boot, so os-fanctl reads their fan after every boot. The coprocessor's clock is set from the host's and its watchdog feeder looked after from the host; its console page gives each line a time and a writer. XGS: Log File shows every tag the plugin logs under, a fan or supply fault at Warning; the kernel follower says "nothing to do" once a boot; the support bundle carries the XGS log's lines and the feeder's record. The XGS 3300's driver changed (#858, #872): its new temperature nodes come with the next boot.
Improvements and additions
- tools: the fast-path counters found by name, so each column reads the same counter on every vendor version (#836)
- XGS: Overview: a coprocessor the driver did not recognise is said to be one (#839)
- XGS: Settings: the help of Copies for packet capture names vendor versions (#837)
- docs: the coprocessor's software named by its vendor version in prose (#841)
- code: the coprocessor's software named by its vendor version in messages and comments (#842)
- docs: stale command counts corrected, and three figures linked to where they are measured (#843)
- Problem reports: an IPv6 link-local address made from a MAC is taken out (#844) (#845)
- install: the coprocessor's console logger installed and uninstalled, and a check for the next file left out (#847)
- The XGS 126 and 136's status light lit green once the appliance is up, not left blinking (#735) (#849)
- The coprocessor's watchdog feeder looked after from the host, and put right before it costs a reset (#768) (#848)
- XGS 3300: the sensor bank's power supply, fan and reset flags read, and said in the system log (#854)
- XGS 126 and 136: the factory-reset flag read at boot, and said in the system log when it is set (#855)
- XGS 3300: the coprocessor's memory temperature in OPNsense's widget, where its module has a sensor (#858)
- The coprocessor's boot firmware build dates read, and the coprocessor's record in the support bundle (#859)
- The coprocessor's clock set from the host's, at the end of the boot and every ten minutes (#860)
- The XGS section's Log File page shows every tag the plugin logs under; a fan or supply fault at Warning (#863)
- The kernel follower says "nothing to do" once a boot, not every five minutes (#864)
- XGS 126 and 136: superio(4) loaded at boot, so os-fanctl reads their fan (#865)
- Overview: Appliance health card and rows; Coprocessor tab: U-Boot and boot image build dates (#867)
- Coprocessor Console page: each line with its time and writer, so Date and Process fill (#866)
- Support bundle: plugin lines from the XGS log too, and feeder.json; two more tags in that log (#868)
- XGS Coprocessor widget: coprocessor memory, and "answering" only while its fast path answers (#869)
- XGS: Overview: the appliance's serial number, as on its label (#871)
- XGS 3300: switch, SFP+ cages' PHY and expansion module PHY temperatures (#872)
Documentation
- docs: the thousand-connection run's lost clients are the bench (#695) (#835)
- docs: reviving at the end of a receive pass, measured on the XGS 136 - no difference (#717) (#850)
- docs: what wakes a deaf ring - three tries and the status bit left alone, measured (#361) (#851)
- docs: what a reading of the vendor's versions 21, 22 and 23 corrected and added (#852)
- docs: the first wait after a give-back, 1,000 ms against 250 ms on the XGS 136 - no clear difference (#717) (#853)
- docs: the completion tables after the measurements of 2026-10-26 and 27 (#856)
- docs: the TCP window checked in hardware on IPv6 and on a translated connection, XGS 3300 (#679) (#857)
- docs: parity - XGS 136 fan read from the host's Super I/O, not over the management link (#870)
